Rep. Meerman talks about final House passage Tuesday of a bipartisan plan to improve the state’s Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry system. Currently, to be placed on the Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry, a person must merely attract the attention of Child Protective Services. The plan, Wyatt’s Law, seeks to improve the system of registering serious child abuse and neglect offenders separate from minor offenders. The measures now go the the Governor.
